Art Williams, former director of the Metro Louisville Air Pollution
Control District, is in Copenhagen, Denmark, attending the latest
UN-sponsored international conference on climate change, with
the critical goal of crafting a legally binding agreement to succeed
the Kyoto Protocol.
Mr. Williams attended the previous conferences in Kyoto (1997), Buenos Aires (1998),
Bonn (1999), The Hague (2000), Bonn (2001) and Bali (2007), on behalf of the (US)
national professional association for state and local air-pollution officials. Now retired
from civil service, he is attending, with the generous support of the Sierra Club’s
statewide Cumberland Chapter and its Greater Louisville Group.
